Is it obligatory to pay annual return fees?

Yes. The CIPC requires that every Pty & CC in South Africa pay an annual return fee every 12 months. The payment of these fees by your Company is a confirmation to the CIPC that your Company is still trading and as such all information and contact details regarding your Pty or CC will be continuously kept and updated on their database.

What do I have to pay if I submit my annual returns correctly?

The total invoice for a Pty or CC for annual returns will consist of two fees:

1. An Annual Return admin fee: This fee consists of the normal outstanding CIPC fees and if applicable, any penalties in the event that a payment was late.
2. A Submission fee: This fee is a once-off payment when your annual return(s) with the CIPC has been submitted.
